Homeopathy is Bad Medicine
Homeopathy has set deep roots in India. It is believed that homeopathy was brought to India by German missionaries and physicians who arrived in India almost 200 years ago. In fact a homeopathic hospital was established in Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu) by Samuel Brooking in 1847. In certain states like Kerala homeopathy continues to be extremely popular.
Today there are about 186 medical colleges that teach homeopathy (about 35 of them are government colleges). Homeopathy is considered to be the third most popular method of treatment in India after Allopathy and Ayurveda. There are approximately 500,000 homeopaths in India (homeopathy legally is on par with conventional medicine in India).
Many consider homeopathy as an alternative to modern medicine and also complimentary method of curing illnesses. Homeopathy considers mind, body and emotions as one and not as separate entities.
But in a stunning blow to this profession the Science and Technology committee of Britain has said that homeopathic products are not medicines and should no longer be licensed by regulators. The committee said that homeopathy is unscientific and added “homeopathy producers should not be allowed to make medical claims on product labels without evidence they work”.
The science and technology committee said that study shows that it no better than a placebo (dummy pill). Many have claimed that the homeopathy industry has made millions all over the world just by selling “sugar pills” to the unsuspecting public. Responding to these allegations Paula Ross (Chief Executive of the Society of Homeopaths) said that homeopathy is more effective than a dummy pill but “scientists are yet to understand how”.
I personally have taken homeopathic medications many times when I was young. I am not a believer in this form of treatment. Almost always I ended up going to a real doctor to find a cure to whatever was wrong with me at that time. The medications that I took tasted very similar to each other and the whole solution sounded too simplistic. What Britons science and technology committee said only reinforces what I already believed in.
It is up to you to make up your mind.

A nice article.. But I beg to differ.
Homoeopathy is based on a concept of something like removing pain with pain..
In my example, I had severe migrane, and the same was treated with a medicine, which would be substituting the substance which’s loss would cause migrane.
Anyway, views are unique, thats why we are humans !

Welcome Krishna and thanks for the feedback.
As I mentioned in the article every person should make up their own mind on the way they want to treat what ails them.
I have tried homeo for myself & my sister, with full assurance of recovery from two different homeopaths. Even after lapse of 3 months, no improvement was seen & we had given up homeopathy.
Later, we got treated with allopathy and had recovered fully.
I personally feel going for homeopathy is a sheer waste of time & money.
Welcome Krish. Glad to hear that you got well. Homeopathy is not based on science. Homeopathic medicines should be sold in candy stores and not in a pharmacy.
Homeopathy is proved on humans not on animals like allopathy I had suffered from fistula from 1997 to 2004.Allopathic surgeon told there is no cure for fistula in allopathy.I was operated twice with no improvement.in 2004 after taking homeopathic medicine it was cured in two weeks.By taking treatment from an unexperienced from you cannot say system is bad.We have good medicines in Homeopathy not good doctors
Welcome Narasimha Murthy,
I hope things worked out for you in homeopathy.
In my opinion scientifically homeopathy is yet to prove anything on humans.
